Josefine Brodd

Growing up in Sweden, design and aesthetics were a way of life for my family. I was constantly surrounded by amazing Scandinavian designers such as Josef Frank, Stig Lindberg and Marimekko. I would like to see myself as an offspring of that design generation and now living in Australia, I look to take the best influences from both places to make my own style. I place a huge importance on shape, colour and the organic elements nature has to offer. For me the key is to follow your design language, of course be current, but still offer something different. As someone said about the success of Marimekko, “As they never try to be in fashion, they will never be out of fashion”. I like to see myself as a designer that sets my own trends and stays true to my imagination and creations.
