About

Think 1986, think fun times, think wild colours, think vibrant textile designs, think Jenny Kee, think Ken Done, think Mambo.

Think Positive Design Studio was there, right amongst all that passionate explosion of homegrown Australian fashion. We started by translating these iconic designer concepts into a printable form, producing film positives (think Ruby, think Amber, Think Positive, what else?). Our colour separations and technical design skills allowed this new free expression of mood to be screen-printed onto fabrics, which went on to excite the world.

Since then we have remained at the forefront of textile design. We have mastered the revolutionary direct to fabric digital printing process. Our passion for colour has driven us to provide unparalleled quality reproduction, embarrassing our Italian counterparts, and perplexing others trying to achieve the same quality reproduction in India and China (Is this washed?). Colours in our silks do not bleed or wash out, our cottons remain bright, our printed nylon lycra has little or no grin and you can think circles for circles (not ovals). Printing woolen knits on Australian Merino Wool is fun.

Yes, we still offer textile design: design originals, creative concepts, step and repeat and the like. We love getting into your head, translating your concept into a printable format. Sure, we can print it for you, (think sample prints). Want to print elsewhere? Well it’s your creation, we’re cool with that too! We’ll complete the file for digital printing (think textile design experts), or print out your film separations for screen-printing (Think Positive!).

Designers need to be able to depend on a reproducible colour palette. In digital, we dare to think red (not orange), think blue (not purple). With our proprietary Colorbox colour management system, your favourite colours will stand out. Your balanced colour palate will remain balanced. Think Josh Goot, think Willow, think Dion Lee, think Therese Rawsthorne. Our digital printing is seen on catwalks in Melbourne, Sydney, Paris, Milan, New York and London.

We can take iconic old screen-prints and digitally remaster the colour and design to produce exquisite new digital silks (think Jenny Kee), or add a new dimension to a golden oldie–Something Else.

For inspiration we do have thousands of designs in our Library, Think Vintage.

Our mantra is to stay ahead of this new technology, and offer Australian designers a world leading market edge in design reproduction (think WOW!). Our website is a record of our work. Our work has become our inspiration (Think Andéol). We want to show you what is happening with print and textiles in the fashion industry. We know that Australian designers have the talent, we see it every day. We want to show the world what we know.
